DH Heads for the 2007 National Convention of Fast Pitch Softball Coaches in Vegas...
Heading up the list of Exhibitors at the 2007 National Convention of Fast Pitch Softball Coaches on November 28 – December 1 in Las Vegas will be ProMounds Sports with their award winning Designated Hitter Pitching System. It’s the only training system that provides instant feedback on each pitch thrown during bullpen and pitching practice sessions. With it, pitchers learn how to develop consistent pitch control and location.
“The DH is sweeping the country,” say Jim Haller, co-inventor of the system. “Each day more and more teams are using it to give their pitchers a competitive edge.”
Many of the top fast pitch softball programs in the country are already using the DH system. Teams like the University of Oklahoma, University of Nebraska, U. Mass, St. Thomas University, Wright State, Ithaca University, University of Louisville, and many more. Coaches at the convention will get a unique look at this revolutionary approach to mastering pitch control and location.
According to John Tschida, Head Softball Coach at St. Thomas University in Minnesota, “many pitchers are a bit timid when learning to throw inside, but the DH has taken away this fear.” He also likes how the DH stands up to “a lot of ‘plunking’ and has yet to get knocked over, even with the heavier softballs.”
Coaches from all across the country will be attending this three-day conference. The conference will start with a dynamic, four-hour, pre-convention seminar that reveals the secrets to player development and scouting using video equipment. Then, many of the nations top rated fast pitch softball coaches and experts will lead two days of clinics. Topics include competitive drills, demonstrations, strategies and debates aimed at all levels of coaching—high school, college, even pro.
Carolyn Peck, former women's basketball coach at the University of Florida, will kick the conference off as Keynote Speaker. In total 26 coaches and speakers including Tanya Porter, senior sport technologist in Performance Services for the United States Olympic Committee, Sue Enquist – former UCLA Head Coach, and Lisa Fernandez, UCLA Assistant Coach will cover all the game’s vital aspects.
