Radar Pitching Drill

Fast, Faster, Fastest…Slow, Slower, Slowest

In the Radar Pitching Drill you do the obvious - measure pitch velocity. But, what makes this drill so much more valuable is that it measures pitch velocity differentials--how much the speed of each pitch is higher or lower than other pitches.

Stop and think about it.

One of the most important keys to pitching success is upsetting a batter's timing. You do this by changing the speed of your pitches.

And, this is just about the only drill I know of that measures and teaches you about changing speeds.

Here's how the Radar Pitchingt Drill works...

Let's say your 4-seam fastball is 80 mph. You want the velocity of your other pitches to come in at approximately the following speeds:

2-seam FB: 77-78 mph
(about 2-3 mph slower than your 4-seam FB)

Curve/slider: 60-65 mph
(about 15-20 mph slower than your 4 seam FB)

Changeup: 68-70 mph
(about 10-12 mph slower than your 4 seam FB)

Now, get more out of this awesome drill...

Do this drill with a batter in the batter's box! See how your speeds change now. How about your control? Any changes there?

What's that? You don't want to risk putting a batter in the batter's box while pitchers are trying to learn how to control their pitches.

I agree with you.

That's why I invented and use the Designated Hitter whenever I have pitchers do the Radar Pitching Drill. The DH is the first professional-quality batting figure capable of enduring any pitching practice session,

And, today many of the top baseball and fastpitch softball teams in the nation are using the DH including Six of Baseball America's Top 25 College Baseball Teams!

Just look at this sample of teams now using the Designated Hitter in their pitching practice and bullpen sessions:

Used by the USA Baseball National Teams

Shouldn't you be using the Designated Hitter too?
